Book excerpt: The proposed Basketball Practice Facility involves construction and operation of a new 2-level, up to 37,000-gsf building (approximately 30,000 assignable square feet [asf]) to accommodate basketball practice programs of the UCLA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The proposed facility would be built on Courts 7 and 8 of the Los Angeles Tennis Center (LATC). The proposed facility would accommodate two practice gymnasiums (i.e., men's and women's); cardio and equipment storage areas; men's and women's team lockers and player's lounges; coaches' offices, conference rooms, and lockers; athletic and weight training areas; a training/sports medicine and hydrotherapy room; a film viewing room; support facilities (e.g., janitorial, mechanical, storage) and a lobby.
