Book excerpt: This research focuses on studying resource scheduling techniques in CA based LTE-A network which applied for downlink communication due to high transmission traffic flows from core network to end mobile users. More specifically, the scenario of multi-services over LTE-A network considered, where different services have various QoS obligations. However, experiment is carried out by using a simulation model for each CA approach. Result of different simulation models is used to investigate the impact on changing the system crowded on each user-level QoS performance metric in terms of average packet delay, average packet drop ratio, and the fairness for all real-time users and minimal throughput for non-real time users. Using these models, two scheduling techniques are proposed to optimize the user efficiency, which are USJCS and EQLICS techniques. Moreover, throughput stabilizer mechanism is applied to different techniques. Lastly, the effect of channel feed-back delay and average throughput window size in different techniques is analyzed against one of the prominent related aggregated carriers based techniques in the literature.
