However, incidents relating to intimate partner violence where the man is the victim are on the rise in recent decades and becoming a concern that can't continue to be ignored. This thesis work concentrates on the men as victims of intimate partner violence and its effects on their psyche, their behavior, and the context around these cases. Through the years, research and studies have focused on women as victims. They are very few and limited studies related to men as victims of intimate partner violence. Similarly, there is a social perception of the role of men in society and their relationship with women and the family. This perception develops confusion among members of society about the credibility of the male victim, their situation, and, therefore, little care or help is offered. Due to the increase in cases related to male victims of intimate partner violence, this thesis work looks to educate and prepare mental health professionals in the clinical practice to work on these cases and further develop strategies and effective treatments for this growing population.
