Students may access self-tests, video clips, web exploration activities, vocabulary flashcards, memory games and crossword puzzles as well as information linked to chapter themes and resource materials such as dictionaries or maps. The instructor's section provides instructional tips and resources including the Video Script. Also included on the website are the Topics and Situations for Oral Evaluation. These conversation topics and role-play situations test discrete items related to vocabulary, grammatical structures, and/or linguistic functions. The topics and situations may also be used for impromptu speaking practice in the classroom. The situations are written in English so that students are not given key vocabulary or grammar structures in the target language. A guide containing many suggestions for evaluating the speaking skill is also provided.
