The hikes included range from the Grand Canyon in the north to the Aqua Fria National Monument in the south and from Sycamore Basin in the west to Horton Creek (near Payson) in the east. Included are a four-day camping-hiking trip to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, a four-day camping trip on the Navajo Reservation to visit Rainbow Bridge and several visits to Indian ruins. On these trips we found and photographed a number of interesting petroglyphs and, at the Squaw Creek Pueblo on the Aqua Fria National Monument, a few pictographs (paintings on rocks).Several of the hikes were made during the summer season in the high country above Flagstaff. These included my second trip to Humphreys Peak, the Abineau-Waterline-Bearjaw Loop Trail and several trails on Mount Elden.
