Says he is confident that Ogden will ultimately succeed by calling on his powerful friends in the legislature. Informs Knox that the petition respecting the Waldo patent will be refer'd over to the next Sessions of the Court. Notes the General Heath resign'd his Commission of Major General of this Division, and on Friday the Senate chose me by a large majority but the House elected Brigr General Thayer.
