Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Allyl Polyethylene Glycol (APEG) production starting from polyethylene glycol ether and allyl chloride. The process examined is known as polymer capping. In this process, a methyl-terminated polyethylene glycol is reacted with allyl chloride to generate Allyloxy- methyl terminated Polyethylene Glycol ether with molecular weight ranging from 380 to 400. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Chinese Patent 105457074, issued to South China University of Technology in 2015 Keywords: Silicone copolymer, MEG, PEG, silicone surfactant
