He att ended graduate school at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, has worked as an Alaska State Park Ranger, owned a commercial salmon fi shing business in Bristol 8ay, and built over 250 homes as a contractor in his hometown of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He and his wife have bred Chesapeake Bay Retrievers for over 30 years. They currently share their ti me between Alaska and their Colorado ranch, where they raise Gypsy Vanner horses.
