Download or read book Wireless Network Performance Enhancement via Directional Antennas: Models, Protocols, and Systems written by John D. Matyjas and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2015-12-07 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Directional antennas have the ability to improve transport capacity by decreasing the interference of a directional main lobe, increase coverage range due to a higher SINR (Signal Interference to Noise Ratio) and reduce power consumption. However, directly and mathematically establishing the relationship between network performance and antenna configurations has proven extremely difficult, if not intractable. This book proposes several clustering-based methods to obtain approximate solutions for heterogeneous antenna configuration problems which can significantly improve network performance.
