Book excerpt: Excerpt from Minutes of the Sixty-Fourth Annual Session of the Burnt Swamp Baptist Association, North Carolina: Held With Berea Baptist Church, October 16-17, 1941 Article 8. - We think it absolutely necessary that we should have an Association fund for defraying the expenses of the same, for raising and supporting what we think is the duty of each Church in the Union to contribute voluntarily such funds as they think proper, and send by delegates to the Association. The money thus contributed shall be deposited in the hands of the Treasurer of the Association who shall be accountable to the Association for all moneys received by him and paid out according to direction of the Association.
